Samsung Galaxy Fold receives One UI 3.1.1 with September Security Patch

Samsung introduced the One UI 3.1.1 with the latest foldable Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3. And as you know the third generation Fold and Flip comes with a bunch of new features only for these two series. Later Galaxy Z Fold 2, and Z Flip also picked up the update with new features. And now the original Galaxy Fold also receives the One UI 3.1.1 with amazing new features exclusive for foldable phones.

Samsung Galaxy Fold is the first foldable phone from Samsung released in 2019 with Android 9. And later the phone received the first major update as Android 10 based One UI 2.0 followed by Android 11. The One UI 3.1.1 is not a major Android update but surely it brings a bunch of new features that will improve the user experience.

One UI 3.1.1 looks like an exclusive update for Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Flip series as it mostly has the features for their form factor. As per the Sammobile, the Galaxy Fold One UI 3.1.1 update comes with the F907NKOU3FUHB / F907NOKR3FUHB / F907NKOU3FUH5. The firmware version can vary as per your region. It is a big update that measures around 936MB.

Coming to the changes in Galaxy Fold One UI 3.1.1, it brings the latest September 2021 Android Security Patch. The update also brings the new taskbar which lets you access your favorite apps from the right side of the screen. Other new features include drag & split, Rotate All Apps, Custom Aspect Ratio, and improved Multi-Active window. All these features will make your foldable phone even better.

One UI 3.1.1 for Galaxy Fold

The latest One UI 3.1.1 update is rolling out for Galaxy Fold in batches and you can expect the update on your device anytime soon. You will get a notification for the OTA update. Sometimes the notification doesn’t work, so in that case, you can manually check for updates in Settings > Software Update. Once it displays the latest One UI 3.1.1 update click on Download & Install.

If you want to update your Galaxy Fold to One UI 3.1.1 immediately, then you can also manually install the update using firmware. You can download the latest firmware from Frija toolSamsung Firmware Downloader. If you are using one of the tools then enter your model and country code and download the firmware. Once downloaded, you can flash the firmware using Odin Tool. Then flash the Firmware on your device. If you want to do so, then I recommend you take a backup prior to diving into the process and make sure the device has enough juice. That’s it.
