How to Downgrade OnePlus Android 12 to Android 11 [OxygenOS 12 to OxygenOS 11]

The instructions below are listed under separate sections for ease of understanding. Make sure to follow exactly the same sequence as mentioned. We will not be held responsible in the event of a thermonuclear war, your alarm does not wake you up, or if something happens to your device and data by taking the following steps.

Step 1: Take a backup

The following action will erase all data from your device. So make sure to back up a complete device in advance.

Step 2: Download OnePlus Android 12 to Android 11 Rollback/Downgrade Firmware

Next, grab the downgrade package for your device. At the time of writing, only the latest flagships have been awarded Android 12, so only their rollback firmware is available. I will add other OnePlus devices as soon as they are live. In addition, the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro now require you to install an additional APK to perform the upgrade process. So make sure to install it too:

Step 3: Downgrade OnePlus from Android 12 to Android 11

1. To begin with, transfer the downloaded downgrade firmware to your device’s internal storage. Don’t place it inside any folder.
2. The firmware might be in .JAR, make sure to change its extension to .ZIP by renaming it.
3. Now download and install the Rollback APK that we have attached above.
4. Make sure to install the one that corresponds to the downgrade package.
5. Launch the app and tap on the settings icon situated at the top right.
6. Navigate to the downloaded downgrade firmware package and select it.
7. Wait for the installation to finish. Once done, tap on the Reboot button.
8. That’s it. Your device will now boot up to Android 11.
