The latest version of Android OS – Android 12 is already available for last year’s premium Xperia phones. Sony launched the first major OS upgrade for the Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III last month. Now, the update is reportedly coming on Xperia 1 II. And the Xperia 5 II model also appears on Geekbench running the new Android 12 OS. Read on to learn more about it.
Geekbench’s listing clearly indicates that Sony is testing the Android 12 OS on its last year’s premium Xperia 5 Mark 2 (model number SO-52A) smartphone. The list also shows updated single-core and multi-core scores. It has a score of 1098 for single-core and 3019 for multi-core.

The Xperia 5 II was announced in October 2020 with Android 10 out of the box. Last year, it received its first major OS upgrade in the form of the Android 11 update. And now we are very close to the next big update – Android 12 OS OTA which includes many new features.
Moving towards changes and features, then Sony’s implementation of Android 12 brings features like scrolling screenshots, one-handed mode, dim screen feature, nearby share, a stack of privacy features, and improvements.
