Redmi Note 9 receives MIUI 13 update based on Android 12


Xiaomi has started implementing MIUI 13 based on Android 12 for the Redmi Note 9. For now, the availability of the update is limited to the vanilla Redmi Note 9, it will be available for other Note 9 series phones soon. The Android 12 firmware has been released for the Redmi Note 9 global variant with firmware version V13.0.1.0.SJOMIXM, with a wider rollout to other regions soon. The Note 9 series was introduced in 2020 with Android 10 OS, the device received its first major software update in the form of Android 11 last year. It later received an incremental MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition OTA. And now it’s time for the second major OS update, if you are using Redmi Note 9, you can now upgrade to MIUI 13 based on Android 12.

Xiaomi released MIUI 13 OTA with July 2022 monthly security patch with new features. Speaking of features, the changelog confirms support for the new widget system. In addition, the new skin offers an optimized file storage system, a RAM optimization mechanism, CPU priority optimization, up to 10�ttery life increase, new wallpapers, sidebar and other features. If you own a Redmi Note 9 smartphone, now you can update your phone to the new Android 12 update. Although it is still in the rental phase and will be available to everyone in the coming days. You can check for new updates by going to Settings and then System Updates. If you are in a hurry, you can manually update your smartphone to MIUI 13 with recovery ROM.
