Apple releases iOS 12.5.1 for iPhones and iPads

After a long holiday vacation, the first iOS update of this year is now available as iOS 12.5.1. The update is for all iPhones and iPads running on iOS 12. It is an incremental update for older Apple phones to enhance performance and security. We can also see iOS 14 updates in the coming days for newer iPhones and iPads.

The iOS 12.5.1 update is available to the public. It means users with supported devices can easily get their hands on the latest update. As for now Apple only released the iOS 12.5.1 update but later today or tomorrow we can see another update for newer iPhones, Apple TV, Apple Watch, and more.

iOS 12.5.1 Update

The iOS 12.5.1 update comes with the build version 16H22. And you can check the build version from Settings > General > About and tap on Software Version. It is a small incremental update. And it comes with some bug fixes as well as security improvements. The update size can vary according to the iPhone Model you have. Check out the changelog below.

This update fixes an issue where Exposure Notifications could incorrectly display logging profile language.

Download & Install iOS 12.5.1

The new iOS 12.5.1 update is now rolling out as an OTA update. And so, you would have already received the update on your phone. It will be available on the devices listed above. To check for updates you can go to Settings> Software update. And it will show the available update. Click on the Download and Install button and it will start installing the update. Make sure your iPhone is connected to WiFi or you won’t be able to click on Download & Install button.

And in case if you haven’t received the update, you have plenty of options to manually install the update. You can install signed IPSW files on your iPhone using iTunes or Finder on Mac. You can easily find iOS 12.5.1 IPSW file for your device from the official website or any trusted website.
